Hindu Samrajya Divas observed

HAILAKANDI, June 1 � Hindu Samrajya Divas was observed in Hailakandi on Sunday under the auspices of Rastriya Swayansevak Sangh (RSS). The day-long programmes was organised at Barawari complex in Hailakandi town.

The day is being observed by RSS to mark the coronation ceremony of Chatrapati Shivaji throughout the country. Physical training chief of Assam State unit of RSS, Nirmalendu Dey was the chief guest in the programme.

He said that Chhatrapati Shivaji was coronate as the king of the Hindavi Swaraj on that day in 1674. Hindu society is full of hero�s who have contributed to the growth of the society. Shivaji�s story is unique in the midst of thousands of years of slavery. He not only established an independent Hindu kingdom but he laid such strong foundations that even after his death, the Maratha Empire sustained until the early 19th century. Shivaji�s farsightedness for the times is noteworthy and relevant for our times even today, he added.

He further mentioned that Shivaji has shown right path to the people in his State and urged the young generation to follow the path shown by him. Various patriotic songs were also performed on the occasion.
