GUWAHATI, Sept 3 - Even as India and China engage in talks following fresh incursion attempts by PLA in eastern Ladakh, defence forces along the China border in eastern sector have been put on high alert.

Though Indian Army refused to comment, sources said additional movement of Indian troops are being observed in the frontier areas. The Kameng sector, including Tawang, and eastern Arunachal Pradesh, including Dibang Valley and Upper Siang and Anjaw districts are being taken care of, the sources said.

However, no untoward incident has been reported from the other side. The eastern sector has been so far peaceful, the sources added.

A defence official in Tezpur-based 4 Corps said the forces were in state of readiness but there has been no infusion of additional forces so far. In case of any requirement, we are ready for it, he said.

The SSB too has asked at least six companies to be in readiness for being deployed in short notice.
