JALUKBARI, April 25 - A greater adjutant stork (hargila) was today rescued by the members of the tourism society Rongmon from Deuchatal after it was found to have fallen sick after consuming waste materials strewn around the GMC dumping site near Deepor Beel.

The Forest department after taking custody of the docile bird took it to the College of Veterinary Science at Khanapara for treatment.

It may be mentioned that a few days back, another hargila was rescued and handed over to the Forest department after it was found in a similar situation just 200 meters away from the dumping site.
