ITANAGAR, Sept 10 - Assam Rifles personnel apprehended a hardcore NSCN(R) cadre, identified as Hunmai Taidong, from Old Changlang village in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday along with a pistol and ammunition.
He has been an active member of the banned outfit since February 2015 and had undergone training at NSCN(R) training camp at Mon, in Nagaland, according to a Defence release here.
The release said, the Assam Rifles has been carrying out operations in south Arunachal Pradesh, and the operations launched last fortnight have resulted in elimination of two hardcore cadres, likely injury to three cadres and apprehension of two hardcore cadres, besides busting of a temporary hideout and recovery of a cache of arms, ammunition, etc.
