GAURIPUR, April 1 - Under the auspices of Shri Hanuman Jayanti Mahotsav Samiti, Gauripur, the 26th Hanuman Jayanti Mahotsav was observed here with a two-day programme on March 30 and 31 last.
On March 30, the puja rituals were performed which were was followed by non-stop reading of the Ramayana. In the evening, invited singer Kumari Radha Sharma presented bhajans in the midst of a large number of devotees. On March 31, the end of the non-stop reading of the Ramayana was declared and hom yajna and arati were performed by a group of priests. Mahaprasad was distributed among the devotees in a disciplined manner. A long procession with �live Ram, Sita and Hanuman� was brought out and was followed by a band party. Hanuman Chalisa was also rendered by a group of singers in a procession through the main streets of Gauripur town.
