Hailstorm hits Gauripur

GAURIPUR, March 31 - A severe hailstorm that lashed entire Gauripur and its adjacent areas on Thursday at 4.15 pm and lasted for 20 minutes caused widespread damage to the existing eri paddy and jute cultivation besides vegetables. In some areas, a number of trees and plantain plants were uprooted. However, no one has been reported to be injured so far. Some thatched houses were also reportedly damaged. The hailstorm is the first one during this period of the spring season.
