Guwahati-Delhi Rajdhani train flagged off

GUWAHATI, March 24 � DoNER Minister BK Handique today flagged off the 2235A Guwahati-New Delhi Rajdhani Special at the Guwahati Railway station today.

The train would run via Muzzaffarpur.

Shiv Kumar, general manager, NF Railway, while speaking on the occasion, said that the new train would play a pivotal role in improving the connectivity of the region with the capital city. He went on to inform that at present there are 11 ongoing national projects in the North-east.

�In the year 2009-10, 216 kilometres of new tracks would be constructed, the largest anywhere in the country, of which 66 km will be completed in this fiscal year,� Kumar pointed out.

MLA Robin Bordoloi, sitting MP Silvius Condpan and APCC president Bhubaneswar Kalita also spoke on the occasion.
