SILCHAR, July 8 - Reacting strongly against the silence of the BJP-led State Government against the allegedly inflammatory and aggressive comments passed by the pro-talk former ULFA leader Jiten Dutta on holding meetings in Barak Valley, the All Cachar Karimganj Hailakandi Students Association (ACKHSA) has said that the stance of the Government is strange and suspicious at this crucial juncture.

Barak Valley has always remained an island of peace where people of different language, caste, creed and religion have lived in cohesion. The statements passed by the pro-talk ULFA leaders are highly instigating and likely to cast a negative impact on the social milieu.

The Government should have acted proactively against the said leaders for making such comments, said Rupam Nandi Purakayastha, adviser to the students body.

Nandi Purakayastha went on to add that ACKHSA supports the process of NRC and wants an error-free list in the interest of the people of the State.

However, it condemns the way hatred is being spread among people across the two valleys.
