SHILLONG, Dec 16 - The Meghalaya Government on Tuesday approved an ordinance seeking to regulate the ownership of individual apartments in the State in absence of any such legislation.

Basically this will indicate management, maintenance, equal responsibilities and contribution for the same for all owners of the apartment.

Stating that the ordinance also zeroes down on the roles of developers and owners, Lyngdoh said It also talks about formation of associations and systematic provisions for the formation of such associations. It speaks about the notion values and subsequent calculation for registration and distribution of common profit of the property.

According to the minister, the ordinance also spells out penalty provisions for any contravention of the rules and provision by an individual or group to include promoters, association or apartment owners. PTI
