GUWAHATI, June 7 No state can develop without development of the education sector and hence the Assam government has been laying stress on development of this sector, said Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
Interacting with the rank holders of the HSLC and Higher Secondary examinations at his residence today, Gogoi expressed satisfaction over the fact that the number of students securing first division in these two examinations increased substantially in the last ten years.
He said the government started distributing computers, laptops and tablets to the students and a number of new universities and technical education institutions have come up in the last few years. The government was aware of the fact that human resource development was the key to overall development of the State, he said.
