Gogoi in favour of CM�s photo in Govt advts

GUWAHATI, May 17 � Reacting to the latest Supreme Court directive on featuring of photographs of political leaders in government advertisements, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that the Prime Minister and the Chief Ministers should be treated on par as both are democratically elected representatives.

In a statement today, Gogoi said that just as the Prime Minister heads the country, a Chief Minister also heads a State. �Both are democratically elected representatives,� he said.

Gogoi said that to make government works more people-oriented, there is a need for putting pictures of Chief Ministers and the Prime Minister in Govt advertisements.
