GNLA militant with Bangladesh links nabbed

TURA, Oct 14 - A wanted militant of the Garo National Liberation Army (GLNA) who was on the run, was finally apprehended near the border village of Rongara in South Garo Hills, while he was trying to return to Bangladesh.

Nikrak M Sangma (alias Kaltush) had joined the outfit in 2011. Police sources said Kaltush was in hiding in Bangladesh and had been evading security forces for quite some time. He was caught on Sunday evening by a special police team.

Superintendent of Police Abraham T Sangma said that asfter moving to Bangladesh, Kaltush was supplying the outfit with arms, camouflage uniforms and ammunition.

He was also involved in anti-national activities, extortion and kidnapping for ransom.
