GNLA dy C-in-C surrenders

TURA, Oct 7 - Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) today suffered its biggest setback with the surrender of Zen Roberth Ch Marak, its deputy commander in chief, along with a senior member of the outfit. The surrender took place this afternoon in Williamnagar in the presence of SP Davis NR Marak.

The 42 year-old GNLA man surrendered with another senior cadre of the outfit, Armindo B Marak alias Rangdat. Rangdat was the deputy commander of North Garo Hills until the surrender of Phliport and his men. �He contacted police today expressing his willingness to surrender and along with Rangdat gave themselves up,� said a police source.
