GUWAHATI, Nov 10 - The Kamrup (Metro) district administration and the district Social Welfare department today felicitated 20 girls of the district who scored the highest marks in different subjects in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination and the Higher Secondary (Final) Examination this year.
Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, they were awarded Rs 5,000 each. Moreover, the girl student who scored the highest marks in the district in the Higher Secondary (Final) Examination was awarded Rs 20,000. As a part of the meeting, the district administration and the district Social Welfare department also provided financial assistance to 14 school management committees for their praiseworthy achievements in girl child education.
The district administration and the district Social Welfare department today also held the district task force meeting under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, the first meeting of the district -level Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign Committee and first Transgender Welfare Committee meeting at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner�s office here.
