GDD Minister visits water supply project

GUWAHATI, Nov 6 - Guwahati Development Department (GDD) Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya today visited the water treatment plant of South Guwahati West Water Supply Project at Sadilapur, Jalukbari to take stock of the progress made so far.

The minister instructed the officials of Gammon India Pvt Ltd to expedite the work and complete the remaining work at the earliest. The project is being implemented by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).

Accompanied by GMDA Chairman Ashok Singhal and a team of GMDA officials, the minister also went to Pandu Ghat area to see the progress of the water distribution network in that particular District Metering Area (DMA).

The GMDA team included CEO Umananda Doley, Secretary Ananta Kr Gogoi and Project Engineer Pulak Kalita.
