Free ration for 10 tribal blocks in Tripura

AGARTALA, July 8 - Tripura Government will distribute free ration to about 62,000 tribals in the remote areas for two months immediately, a Minister said on Friday.

The decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting recently, State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath told reporters.

He said �the BPL families in ten tribal blocks will get this facility for two months because during this time they face shortage of foods.�

He also said that one family would get 20 kg of rice per month and for this 2,442 tonnes of rice would be required. � PTI
