Free poultry distributed

GUWAHATI, July 17 - To encourage self-employment among the unemployed youths of the State through poultry farming, the Assam Livestock and Poultry Development Corporation today distributed free backyard poultry among more than 100 unemployed youths.

In a programme held at the Khanapara office of the corporation, Chairman of the Corporation Manoj Saikia said that for a sound financial health of the State, it is important to strengthen the rural economy, which is possible through poultry farming.

�In the past one year, the Corporation has trained more than 7,000 unemployed youths and farmers, and have helped them in getting the bank loans,� he added.
