BARPETA, Oct 3 - Ridiculing humanity and benevolence of the people across the globe who had joined hands for the victims of the distressed people of Kerala, after the State witnessed one of the worst natural calamities, some miscreants have turned the peoples woes into a tool for earning some extra money.

Four young women accompanied by two minor children were seen collecting money from doctors, students, employees and other people at the Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital this noon. They claimed that they belonged to Kerala and are moving around the country to collect money for the flood victims of their State.

Soon the news of the arrival of these people reached the students of Kerala undergoing studies in the medical college. Out of curiosity, the students met them and questioned them in their local dialect. All the women clammed up as they failed to comprehend the questions asked by the students from Kerala and could not respond to them.

As there was a huge congregation by this time, the people became suspicious about the motive of the four women. Soon the police was called in and all four of them were handed over to the Medical College Police Outpost. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they originally hailed from Sajarat village in Pali district of Rajasthan. Their names have been disclosed as Puja Bhat, Nitu Bhat, Sonam Devi and Ranu Ray. It is worth mentioning that Puja and Ranu were accompanied by their minor children.

This incident trivialising humanity has created sensation here. People here are of the opinion that more fraudulent activities may come to light if the fraudsters are interrogated well.
