Four Myanmar nationals deported

IMPHAL, Sept 10 - Four Myanmar nationals who were arrested for illegally entering the state (Manipur) were handed over to the Myanmar authority on Tuesday.

The four foreign nationals were taken to Moreh, Manipur�s town located at the border with Myanmar and handed over to Myanmar authority in the afternoon, an official said.

The persons - Md Sofi (26), Md Hussain Amir (19), Md Yunush (23) and Md Abdul Amir (40) have been handed over to Myanmar authority as per rules. They were arrested by the security forces in Manipur on charges of entering the �Indian territory� illegally.

Since then, they were in Shajiwa Central Jail in Imphal, serving their jail terms under Foreigner Act. The authority here released them with the completion of their jail terms.

Police in Moreh led by SDPO L Meghabarna, who is also immigration officer, handed over them to the authority of Myanmar government through its immigration officers at the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate, the official added.
