SHILLONG, Dec 10 (PTI): Four Garo militants were gunned down and five others arrested during an encounter with security forces in East Garo Hills district of Meghalaya early today.
The encounter took place around 3 am at Gajingpara near Mendipathar when security forces were conducting a combing operation, the police said.
The militants belonged to the Garo National Liberation Army and were yet to be identified. Three pistols were recovered from them.
