Foundation day of KSA celebrated

DIPHU, July 22 - The Karbi Students� Association (KSA) celebrated its 56th foundation day here on Tuesday in their respective regional and head quarters offices by the two factions.

The regional committees of KSA led by Leeon Engleng, president celebrated its foundation day in their respective offices while, the KSA Diphu regional committee observed the foundation day at Karbi Lammet Amei (KLA) office premises, Diphu.

Pratap Chandra Tokbi, founder president along with the leaders of different social organizations participated in the foundation day function. Several important resolutions like quality education, border issue and organization strengthening resolution etc., were adopted. In the foundation day celebration function, Karbi Cultural Society president, Chandra Sing Kro, president of KLA, Sikari Tisso, convener of JACAS, Bijoy Teron, Ex-KLNLF chairmen, P Dilli and Hemphu Mukrang Adorbar president, Lunse Timung were present. The open session was presided over by Norsing Engti, president, KSA, Diphu regional.

On the other hand, the KSA (Laichan Engleng faction) celebrated its 56th foundation day at Diphu club. In the open meeting, former MP and convenor of HSDC, Dr Jayanta Rongpi attended as a guest.

While addressing the meeting, Rongpi urged the students� fraternity to be united and fight together to pressurize the Central as well as the State Government for long standing demands of Karbi people. He further said that the funds given by the Central Government to the KAAC is not sufficient.
