ITANAGAR, Oct 10 - Former Arunachal Pradesh Minister Tadik Chije passed away last night at the age of 65 due to prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife, four sons and three daughters.
A four-time lawmaker from Mechuka, late Chije had served the State in various capacities. Apart from serving as Deputy Speaker in the year 1978-79, he held the office of Pro-tem Speaker twice in 1999 and 2004.
Besides holding the post of Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board, he had served as Minister BADP and Animal Husbandry and Veterinary during 2003-04.
Born on 2nd October 1952 at Singbu village under Monigong circle of West Siang district, late Chije did his initial schooling from Monigong and Mechuka and later acquired his degree from Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat. He started his political innings in 1978 as a Member of Provisional Legislative Assembly representing Mechuka Assembly Constituency.
