TURA, July 17 - The Red Horns Football Tournament under the Red Horns Sadbhavna project got under
way on Saturday. Titled �Kick for a Cause�, the tournament will be held over 44 days with 67 matches to be played.
The event, organised by the Red Horns Division of the Indian Army will witness a total of 24 teams in action from Meghalaya and Assam. The final is slated for August 28 in Tikrikilla. All the matches will be played on weekends.
23 teams from the Tikrikilla block in WGH and one from Lakhipur in Assam will be a part of the tournament. The teams have been divided into four groups comprising of six teams each. The top two teams of each group will ensure their progress into the knock out stages.
