Floods claim 5 lives

GUWAHATI, July 3 � Five persons were killed in the ongoing flood that has affected 1206 villages in the State. Of the nine lakh thirty four thousand people affected, three lakh fifty thousand people are still in camps.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today informed that the flood affected districts include Lakhimpur, Karimganj, Darrang, Cachar, Dhubri, Morigaon, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur and Barpeta.

Around 625 camps have been set up across the State.

�Karimganj is the most affected followed by Cachar and Hailakandi and the relief measures are being undertaken by the Government,� Gogoi said.
