SILCHAR Dec 30 - The Cachar District Administration on Monday accorded warm felicitation to fencer Kavita Devi who won gold medal in fencing in the recently held South Asian Games (SAG) in Nepal.
In a brief function held on Monday, Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri alongside Silchar MLA Dilip Kumar Paul felicitated Kavita Devi for her achievement. Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri said that Kavita would be the ambassador for the �Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Beti Khelao� campaign at the district level.
�There is no reason to think that girls cannot achieve bigger goals. We must never stop trying. We can beat the odds if there is belief and determination,� said Kavita, who hails from Lakhipur in Cachar as she thanked her parents for their contribution in her life and career. She was quick to inform that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal had asked her to meet on January 2 at Guwahati.
