GUWAHATI, Sept 4 - Azara police last night arrested a fraud who made fake driving licences and duped people.

Reportedly, a man who procured a licence through a dalal doubted the authenticity of the document and approached the police.

Azara ACP Pranjal Bora said a raid was launched in the suspected locations and the fraud was arrested from a public call booth near Brahmaputra Parking at Beharbari. He has been identified as Nikunja Das, originally hailing from Barpeta.

Around 21 duplicate licences, over a hundred blank PVC cards, laptop, printer and scanner were seized from the location, Bora said.

Though the accused claimed that he had been making fake licences for the last three to four months, police suspect that he had been doing it for a long time. He made forged driving licences of all states.

Nikunja has been handed over to the Basistha Police Station for interrogation.
