Exploitation of workers is a crime: Acharya

GUWAHATI, April 30 - Governor PB Acharya, in his May Day message has said that May Day, also known as International Workers� Day, and as Labour Day in some places, is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that was promoted by the international labour movement and takes place every year on May Day, i.e., on May 1.

In his message, the Governor said, �Workers are creators of wealth in every field of life. Work is worship. Exploitation of workers is a crime and is inhuman. We should respect them and have parity in our behaviour with them.�

The Governor also appealed to all labour organisations to contribute towards building a swachh, samriddh, shashakt and niryog Bharat.
