JORABAT, Sept 25 - Former UPSC chairman DP Agrawal today said that the teaching method should be changed according to learner.
He was addressing a faculty development programme at the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) in Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya. Prof Agrawal recently joined the USTM as Professor Emeritus.
He said that teachers should have a role in selection or admission of students.
Prof Agrawal said that there is acute teacher shortage in educational institutions of the country, including IITs. He stated that out of 780 accredited universities, 360 are private varsities. There are over 35,000 colleges, of which 65 per cent are private. However, there is teacher shortage in over 40 per cent of educational institutions, he pointed out.
