Ex-Nagaland Speaker Peseyie passes away

DIMAPUR, Sept 27 - Former Nagaland Minister and two-time Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie passed away at a private hospital here early morning today. He was 68.

A State funeral will be held at Centenary ground in Jotsoma village at 1 pm tomorrow to pay last respect and homage to late Peseyie, Nagaland Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar informed in a release.

Peseyie was first elected to the Assembly from Western Angami Assembly Constituency in 2003 on NPF ticket and became Speaker. He won from the same seat in 2008 and again became Speaker for the second time. He became Minister after winning for the third time in 2013.

Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang has expressed shock and pain over Peseyie�s death.

Expressing deepest condolences to his wife Vilekhono Peseyie and his children, Zeliang said, �We Nagas have lost a great leader today.�
