SILCHAR, Nov 27 - Former Congress MLA from Sonai constituency of Cachar district, Kutub Ahmed Mazumder passed away in the wee hours on Wednesday at his Badripar residence. He was 80.
According to family sources, the former legislator was suffering from cardiac issues for quite sometime.
His death cast a pall among his peers and party members. Known to be a polite and prudent political personality, Kutub Ahmed had great debating skills and he was a voracious reader as well.
Sanjeev Roy, secretary, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee informed that members from all the wings of the Congress party thronged the late MLA�s funeral at his native place and paid last respects to the departed leader.
