Ethnic food festival of Galo people organised

GUWAHATI, March 11 - An ethnic food festival of the Galo community of Arunachal Pradesh was organised by the Guwahati Galo Students� Union (GGSU) at the All Tai Ahom Students� Union head office at Jayanagar, Sixmile here yesterday under the guidance of Monya Bame, advisor to the GGSU, said a press release today.

More than 280 students studying in different colleges and institutions of Guwahati participated in the food festival where the organisers served green leafy vegetables, pork with bamboo shoot and local rice from Arunachal Pradesh.

The GGSU appreciated All Tai Ahom Students� Union leaders Ashini Kumar Chetia and Basanta Gogoi for their cooperation in making the ethnic food festival a success. It also said that such events would help foster brotherhood and amity among all the indigenous people of the North East.
