DIPHU, Sept 17 - Worried citizens of Lahorijan locality, Karbi Anglong district have alleged that people from neighboring Nagaland are encroaching on forest and revenue land of this district in connivance with a section of Land and Revenue department and local public leaders. They have appealed to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council authority to visit the affected area.
They claimed that a resident of Dimapur town has encroached 500 acres of land near Lahorijan along Asian Highway-1 and is trying to register the plot in his name and the Settlement Office is well aware of the matter. They have appealed to the council authority to take proper action against the persons involved in selling of Karbi Anglong land illegally.
