Elementary education official under scanner

MORIGAON, Nov 1 - The office assistant of District Elementary Education office came under scanner for allegedly demanding bribe from a retired teacher to clear the paper work for his pension.

The accused, identified as Siva Boruah, of Morigaon District Elementary Education office and one of the clerk working in the office allegedly demanded a bribe amount from the complainant, identified as Lakhit Chandra Deka, for the paper work.

The complainant teacher retired on March 31 from Bhurbandha MV School. Later, he approached Commissioner, Pension and Public Grievances, Mehtabuddin Ahmed and submitted a written complaint on October 15 in this regard.

The commissioner directed the deputy commissioner of Morigaon to launch a probe into the matter.
