RAHA, Sept 19 - A team of Nagaon police led by ASP Rosie Kalita recovered four packets containing about 56 gm of suspected heroin from a Ford Figo car bearing registration no. AS-01-AR-2878 near the Raha Toll Plaza on the Guwahati-Nagaon highway on Wednesday evening.
Talking to this correspondent, ASP Kalita said they received information about a drugs consignment being delivered in Nagaon by four people in a private car. Police accordingly intercepted the vehicle at around 5.15 pm near the toll plaza and seized the heroin, estimated at Rs 6-7 lakh.
Four drug traffickers, including a woman, were also nabbed. The arrested persons were identified as Phulchand Ali of Barpeta, Md Muktar Ali of Darrang, Sakina Begum of Hajo, and Hannan Ali of Sipajhar, Darrang.
