DoNER minister praises Arunachal govt

ITANAGAR, April 27 (PTI): Union DoNER Minister B K Handique has praised Arunachal officials for effective implementation of central schemes related to the North-East.

The Union Minister, currently on a five-day tour of the state, said this at a review meeting of all central schemes here yesterday, official sources said today.

"We are here not to find faults but to resolve issues and constraints by working together," Handique said addressing senior officials.

Various North East Council (NEC) and Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) schemes are being implemented in the state.

M S Sodhi, Adviser, Transport and Communication NEC called upon all the project implementing departments to submit utilization certificates for early release of funds.

So far, 149 projects have been sanctioned under NLCPR amounting to Rs 1559.28 crore.

Of this, 51 projects have been completed and the rest are in different phases of implementation.
