DoNER commits Rs 176.43-cr aid to Manipur

IMPHAL, June 23 - The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved of a total amount of Rs 176.43 crore to undertake different schemes in Manipur. The amount was okayed by the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) of the DoNER Ministry in a meeting held at New Delhi recently, a press release stated.

Out of the approved amount, a sum of Rs 59.06 crore has been approved for three projects under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS), Rs 90 crore for 38 projects under the Hill Area Development Programme (HADP) and Rs 27.37 crore for 16 projects under the Flood Relief Works in the State.

The three projects under the NESIDS are upgrade of the Moirang Sendra Road up to Sendra Hillock, Moirang Sendra Road to Omba Hillock and Keina Bazaar to Thanga Keibul Road for promoting tourism, augmentation of the Moreh Water Supply Scheme and provision of paid/private ward in JNIMS.
