Don Bosco lift NC Tamuly trophy

GUWAHATI, April 26 � With a three-wicket victory against Shrimanta Shankar Academy in the final, Don Bosco School, Guwahati clinched the title in the Nabin Chandra Tamuly Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the Guwahati Cricket Coaching Centre.

In the low scoring final at the Nehru Stadium here today, electing to bat first Shankar Academy boys hardly could show their potentiality and were all out for 96 in 28.2 overs in the 35-over match. Tanuz Kalita 25 was their lone notable contributor with 25.

The Bosconians also had to struggle iniatially but finally managed to achieve the target in 23.3 overs losing seven wickets. Rohan Dutta remained unbeaten with 23 and provided major contribution towards his team�s total.

In the closing function Assam Cricket Association secretary Bikash Baruah, former Ranji players Ratul Das, Umesh Sarma, secretary ACA umpires board Mohammad Abdul Khaleque, GSA general secretary Ibocha Singh were present as guests.

Individual prize winners were: MoM : Rohan Dutta (Don Bosco, player-of-the-final), Best Player of the Tournament : Tanuz Kalita (SSA, player-of-the-tournament), Nihal Das (Don Bosco, best batsman), Aryaman Panghal (Don Bosco, best bowler). Promising players: Jay Singh (Nichols), Utpal Das (Capital), Manikarna Sarma (Don Bosco), Rishab Barman (Don Bosco), Nabanil Sarma (Noonmati), Rohit Bhuyan (Nichols). Youngest player : Aman Prajapati (Ganesh Nagar)
