GUWAHATI, Feb 9 - Widely revered as the �Nightingale of Assam,� veteran singer Dipali Borthakur and eminent artist Neelpawan Baruah were felicitated by Nilachal Educational Welfare Society, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the uplift and rejuvenation of Assamese culture, on Monday, a press release stated.
The whole endeavour was a small step to recognise the achievements of this esteemed artist duo. A group of students from Nilachal Jatiya Vidyalaya and a few teachers, headed by principal Rajib Kalita, went to the home of the artist duo and a small cultural programme was held there. The cultural programme was hosted by Niren Kakoti. The performance of Dipali Borthakur�s evergreen songs like Sunor Kharu Nalage Muk, Senai Moi Jao Dei, Dale Dale Gai Kuli Bulbuli, was the highlight of the event, the release added.
