Dibrugarh traders to open shops from Aug 13

DIBRUGARH, Aug 11 - Following the intervention of the district administration, the Dibrugarh Traders� Association and the Dibrugarh Distributors� Association have decided to open their retail and wholesale shops from August 13.

The sudden closure of shops by the trader bodies from August 10 to 14 had invited public criticism. The Dibrugarh Traders� Association had on their own declared a five-day closure of all wholesale and retail shops on AT Road and Cole Road for self-isolation because of the pandemic situation.�

Following a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha in presence of ADC Rajib Thapa, the representatives of the Dibrugarh Traders� Association and the Dibrugarh Distributors� Association agreed to open their retail and wholesale units from August 13.�

Jha appealed to the associations to open their shops and come forward for COVID-19 test to fight the pandemic.�
