GUWAHATI, March 19 Kamrup Metro DC Dr M Angamuthu today visited the Tribal Museum located in Nazirakhat area under Sonapur Police Station, which was the scene of a major fire yesterday.

After the visit, the DC said that an inquiry has been instituted to probe if the incident was the result of any deliberate mischief and whether adequate fire safety equipment were available at the place, besides to find out if there was any administrative lapse.

Fire broke out in the Tribal Museum yesterday afternoon, damaging it partially. It took nearly an hour for the fire fighters to douse the fire.

The Kamrup Metro district administration had yesterday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident, to be conducted by Additional District Magistrate Rajib Prakash Barua.
