Cotton teachers demand revised pay scale

GUWAHATI, April 13 � The general body meeting of the Cotton College Teachers� Association (CCTA) has demanded early implementation of UGC revised pay scales, etc., scheme, 2009 for the college teachers.

A delegation of teachers is also slated to meet the Education Minister in this regard.

The meeting was held on April 12 under the presidentship of Dr Sitanath Lahkar, a press release stated.

Dr Maheswar Kalita, general secretary of CCTA, speaking during the meeting said that though the officers concerned of higher education and finance department, were showing interest and doing their works, it might take some time to complete the process of implementation.

Dr Gautom Sharma, vice president of the association also maintained that the progress was not satisfactory.

At the same meeting, Dr Sitanath Lahkar delivered a talk on National Commission for Higher Education and Research Bill, 2010, added the press release.
