Contraband seized, 2 held

AIZAWL, Nov 5 - The Serchhip battalion of the Assam Rifles recovered 1,30,000 methamphetamine tablets from near the Myanmar border in Champhai district on Wednesday. Two persons have been arrested in this connection, an Assam Rifles source said

The seized tablets are worth Rs 6.5 crore in the local market.

The seizure was made following a joint operation launched by the Assam Rifles battalion and the Excise and Narcotics Department of Champhai at Ruantlang along the Champhai-Mualkawi route.
