Construction work of model hospital at Bokakhat inaugurated

BOKAKHAT, Oct 12 - The Minister of Health, PWD, Finance etc., Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, formally inaugurated the construction work of the 100-bed Bokakhat Swahid Kamala Miri Hospital this afternoon, amidst a huge gathering of people.

In his speech on the occasion, Sarma sharply criticised the former Congress government�s policies and elaborately described the various schemes launched and implemented by the present BJP government, like Atal Amrit Abhijan, Ayushman Bharat etc. He also said that the government had freed the Bordowa Thaan campus and KNP which had been encroached upon by suspected illegal migrants.

He declared that the Kohora Model Hospital will be set up in the name of freedom fighter Veda Baisnab and two statues of Swahid Kamala Miri and freedom fighter Veda Baisnab will be erected in Bokakhat town. The total estimated cost of the building is Rs 9,65,65,946.

For upgradation of the Bokakhat stadium with a gym Rs 20 crore, for Bokakhat town complex Rs 17 crore and for the overall development for Bokakhat town Rs 30 crore have been sanctioned, the minister said.

Speaking in the meeting, Atul Bora Minister of Agriculture etc., hoped that all the needs of his constituency can be met up with the advice and assistance of Minister Sarma. The meeting was attended by Bhaben Bharali, MLA, Dergaon, Ranoj Pegu, MLA, Dhemaji, Mrinal Saikia, MLA, Khumtai and ATDC�s Chairman Jayanta Malla Barua and the DC of Golaghat G Bothra.

Earlier, Dr Ratul Ch Bordoloi, Joint Director of Health Services, Golaghat presented the welcome address.
