DULIAJAN, Feb 18 - A clock tower measuring six metres in height from the ground level was officially unveiled recently by the Oil India Limited in the heart of Duliajan town. The clock tower was inaugurated by the Resident Chief Executive (RCE) of the company Pranjit Deka. The clock tower was constructed at the centre of the intersection of the two main roads in the Duliajan township near the Fire service station. Located in one of the most visible and busy areas of Duliajan, the clock tower along with a prototype of a production well head, popularly referred to as X�mass tree, symbolises the journey of Oil India Limited and pays tribute to the contribution of the pioneering oil explorers who laid the foundation of the company.
The idea of such a meaningful landmark in the Oil Field Headquarters situated township and a gift to the people of the area, was conceived by the OIL RCE Pranjit Deka, who is himself a civil engineer by profession.
The inauguration function of the event was participated by many officials of the Company along with the scribes fraternity of Duliajan.
