GUWAHATI, April 17 - As part of the ongoing Rongali Bihu celebrations, children in greater Anil Nagar area felicitated 14 senior citizens (octogenarians) of the locality today.
The children felicitated the octogenarians with gamosas, books and saplings of neem and bakul.
The octogenarians blessed the children and also gifted them books that included Burhi Aair Sadhu and Digdarshan.
The felicitated octogenarians included Haridas Kalita, Dr Umesh Chandra Dakuwa, Dr Rajendra Nath Pathak, Dalim Bayan, Amulya Chandra Das, Arati Kalita, Ramcharan Pathak, Ambika Sarma, Dr Prabin Chandra Sarma, Bipin Chandra Hazarika, Jaya Das, Fariza Hasan and Asha Das. The felicitation meeting was conducted by the children themselves. Madhusudan Das from among the organisers spoke on the occasion.
