AIZAWL, May 21 - Parents and students in Mizoram have expressed anxiety over the revised schedule of the remaining Class X and Class XII examinations, which are slated for July, announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

State students enrolled in educational institutions in other parts of the country are already back in Mizoram due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now the parents and students in Mizoram are demanding special arrangements so that the students can appear in the pending board examinations from centres in the State itself. The parents questioned as to how they can send their wards outside the State to appear in these examinations as the country is witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Meanwhile, some parents have met the Mizoram Chief Secretary in this regard. Reports said that the Chief Secretary had assured the parents of all possible help.

According to sources, Class X and Class XII students had already returned to the State from various cities including New Delhi, Kolkata, Dehradun, Guwahati and Shillong in early March due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
