GUWAHATI, July 15 - The results of Class X examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) were declared today, with the Guwahati region, comprising eight states of the Northeast, recording a total pass percentage of 79.03.
The Guwahati region, however, remained at the bottom of performance list in the country this year, whereas the Trivandrum region topped the chart with 99.28 per cent success rate.
Of the total 60,910 students, who had appeared for their board examination from the Guwahati region this year, 46,995 passed. The girl students recorded a success rate of 79.22, whereas the boys scored 79.12 per cent.
The success rate among Kendriya Vidyalayas of the region this year is 99.19 per cent, followed by the performance of Jawahar Navodaya Vidayalas that recorded a pass percentage of 97.89. The success rate of independent category institutions is 91.73 per cent. The success rate of government schools in the region is 60.51 per cent, while that in government-aided schools is 71.23 per cent.
