CBSE basketball tourney concludes

GUWAHATI, Sept 10 - The CBSE Cluster-I U-17 and 19 Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament, being hosted and organised by the Miles Bronson Residential School (MBRS), Borjhar, came to an end yesterday.

Sainik School, Goalpara and St Francis De Sales (SFS), Narengi won the titles in the boys U-17 and 19 categories while Miles Bronson Residential School, and Ekalavya Model Residential School Sikkim emerged champions in the girls U-17 and 19 categories respectively.

Subodh Das, director, SOS Children�s Village, Guwahati was the chief guest in the closing function.

The prizes were given away by the chief guest, Dr NK Dutta, founder and principal of the host MBRS and Nandini Dutta, secretary, Miles Bronson Education Society.

The final results: Team champions (U-17 Boys) Sainik School, Goalpara; (U-17 Girls) Miles Bronson Residential School, Borjhar; (U-19 Boys) SFS, Narengi; (U-19 Girls) EMRS, Sikkim. Team runners up (U-17 Boys) Indus Academy, Jagiroad; (U-17 Girls) NPS, International School, Lakhra; (U-19 Boys) Miles Bronson Residential School, Borjhar; (U-19 Girls) SFS, Narengi. Best disciplined team (U-17 Boys) SFS, Narengi; (U-17 Girls) Royal Global School, Guwahati; (U-19 Boys) EMRS, Sikkim; (U-19 Girls) Sarla Birla Gyanjyoti School, Amingaon. Best players of the tournament (U-17 Boys) Master Prince Kumar, Sainik School, Goalpara; (U-17 Girls) Rupali Begum, Miles Bronson Residential School, Borjhar; (U-19 Boys) Master Kaif Irfan Tanvir Ahmed, SFS, Narengi; (U-19 Girls) Norzom Bhutia, EMRS, Sikkim.
