Cattle seized in Dhubri

GOLAKGANJ, July 27 - Acting on a tip off, the BSF jawans seized 150 cows worth over Rs 10 lakh as they were being smuggled out from Dhubri district in Assam to across Bangladesh on Saturday night, sources said.

The cows were taken from Chowkir char, Old Dewaneralga and Gaspara villages in Dhubri district. The smugglers however fled away leaving behind the cows, sources said, adding that the cattle heads were handed over to the Customs department.
