Case against 2 police officers

GUWAHATI, April 20 � Dispur Police has registered a case on the basis of an FIR lodged by a freelance journalist against two police officers whose names have been allegedly linked with Anil Chauhan, who was arrested by the city police in connection with car theft cases across the country.

The case {number 723/15, under sections 120 (B)/212/222/379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)} registered by the Dispur Police Station, is based on the FIR of Pranabjit Doloi, who named police officers Moscow Saikia and Mani Saikia and pleaded that they should be arrested immediately for the sake of fair investigation into the cases of car theft that involved Anil Chauhan, and a fair trial of those cases.

Both the police officers were named by Anil Chauhan in his confessional statements, Doloi said in his FIR.
